Hereford Countryside Issues

CPRE Herefordshire is working hard to resist changes we believe will irreparably damage the county’s unique landscape.

Consider what Hereford will look like when the proposed Hereford bypass encircles the city; the proposed 6,500 new homes to help pay for the bypass are built, increasing the size of the city by a third; up to 174 large wind turbines and 403 medium size turbines are planted on high ground; and soft fruit growers continue their expansion, covering acres of Herefordshire in plastic even within ‘protected landscapes’ such as the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
